Trying to catch up on some stuff I wanted to share from this summer…Make sure to check out the new(ish) mural by Brazilian brothers Octavio and Gustavo Pandolfo, known as Os Gemeos, that went up mid-July on the North West corner of Houston and Bowery. These lame iphone photos do not do it justice, since it’s quite detailed and needs to be seen in it’s entirety.
I caught the Karl Haendel ‘scribble’ street art going up recently and have been meaning to post it. It’s finished now as you can see by the second shot. It’s kind of a interesting process when the reproduction of the original work takes much longer and is much more painstaking to make than the original work.
I had been meaning to photograph this for quite a while. It’s on a phone booth around the corner from my place, so I see it every day. Turns out this Tommy Kane guy has been quite prolific – you’ve definitely seen his advertising stuff before. I guess now he’s focusing more on his illustration work and he’s quite good. Here’s his illustration site.
So, with this amazingly nice day of spring in New York City, I was out in the ‘hood and found this piece of street art on Howard, just around the corner from Broadway.I quite like it. Anyone know who did it? I’ve seen this person’s stuff before, but can’t remember who it is.
Banksy has a show near my office now and they’ve put up two nice wall murals to call people’s attention to it. This is the better of the two. It’s at Howard and Broadway, if I remember correctly. I know I’m a few days late in mentioning it but in case you haven’t seen it yet, here it is.
